Bishop Victor D. Agee is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of six. He accepted his call to the gospel ministry at the age of 21 and was ordained on July 17, 1985, by order of the Greater Exodus Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois, under the pastorate of Rev. John Whitehead, Sr.

On April 11th of 1993, Bishop Agee organized Praise Temple Church Baptist of Chicago, Illinois with four other founding members. (The church was later renamed Praise Temple of Restoration in 2003.) Bishop Agee has earned an A.A. in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute and studied towards B.A. in Intercommunications from Trinity University.

In July 1994, Bishop Agee aligned Praise Temple with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International (FGBCF) under the direction of Bishop Larry D. Trotter. During his tenure with the FGBCF, Bishop Agee served as State Director of Ministerial Alliance; District Overseer of Illinois Western District; 1st Assistant to Bishop of Illinois Simon Gordon; 1st Assistant to the Bishop of District Overseers, and Council Member for Field Operations. Bishop Victor Agee was a Speaker at the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International’s Annual Conference after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. He served on the Council of Field Operations for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.

In July of 2006, Bishop Agee was appointed and officially installed as the State Overseer of Illinois and he was duly consecrated to the sacred office of “Bishop” in our Lord’s Church by the hand of Presiding Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., in 2008.

Bishop Agee served as State Bishop of Illinois for 10 years and received holy orders to also cover the State of Wisconsin additionally for 3 years.

Praise Temple’s ministry flourished under Bishop Agee’s dynamic preaching, anointed teaching, and passion for people. Praise Temple served as a dynamic ministry of restoration with an effective outreach in areas of youth, evangelism, social services, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS.

He was celebrated religious television and radio personality and served as a board member on the LeadersNetwork.

Bishop Agee has appeared on local religious radio programs and was the host of The Restoration Hour television and radio broadcast. He is an active member of the Chicago Clergy Speaks Association and the West Side Community Redevelopment Association. Bishop Agee was an active participant in civic activities in the Chicagoland area and an advocate for the disenfranchised and outcasts. His passion and desire are to reach out to those individuals who are lost, broken, and living on the peripheral edge of society, with the love of God, and the message of Jesus Christ, the Good News of the Gospel.

The ministry of Bishop Agee is not restricted to the United States but his influence and work assigned to his hand are global by way of preaching, teaching, and humanitarian service. He has developed and taught various in-depth workshops and seminars across the country and abroad with global missions preaching and lecturing in Jamaica, Bahamas, Israel, Ghana West Africa, and Kenya East Africa.

Additionally, under the tutelage of Bishop Andy Lewter, he studied in the School of Episcopacy with an intensive program consisting of coursework in partnership with Howard University, Beulah Heights University, and Regent University. Bishop Agee’s concentration is Liturgical Emphasis of the Church.

After prayer and contemplation, Bishop Victor Agee accepted the request of his covenant brother, Bishop Andre L. Jackson, to continue the work and pastor New Vision Baptist Church after his transition.

In the fall of 2016, the sister church of Praise Temple, New Vision Full Gospel Baptist Church of East Orange, New Jersey suffered a tremendous loss in the passing of their Founder and Senior Pastor, Bishop Andre L. Jackson. Praise Temple and New Vision had fellowshipped together over the course of 20 years. Bishop Agee was asked to be their Interim Pastor during this trying time. In 2017, it was offered and accepted that Bishop Agee would be Senior Pastor of New Vision Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Bishop Agee was installed as the Senior Pastor of New Vision Baptist Church at the Cathedral in March of 2018. He is a member of the East Orange New Jersey Clergy Association and also works on various projects for the City of Irvington and Newark, New Jersey.

In the last 3 years, he has received the Outstanding Clergy Award from the City of Irvington and also received Proclamations from the Mayors of Newark and East Orange, New Jersey.

In April of 2021, Bishop Agee was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers which is sponsored by the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College. The annual College of Ministers & Laity is the Chapel’s signature program.
